According to statistics, 85-90% of things that people worry about don’t happen. And 90% of those people are worried about the hypothetical future rather than the consequences of things that have already happened. “What would I do if I had a heart attack? What would happen to my children then?” “What if someone breaks in while I’m out of house?”
Our concern now is not just about what we worry or don’t worry about. The biggest danger of worry and anxiety is the fact that they themselves are the main culprits that destroy our lives. It takes only 5 minutes for worries and anxieties to take away joy and peace. Anxiety instantly captures our thoughts, minds, and bodies.
When the Israelites went out of Egypt and stood before the Red Sea, the worries and anxieties they faced were indescribable. They were freed after suffering in Egypt as slaves, but it seemed that all their hardships were in vain now that they were blocked between Red Sea and the coming Egyptian army. The freedom and joy of liberation disappeared in an instant, and fear of death and anxiety for the future captured their hearts, minds, and spirits. This was the moment when their faith was tested.
In life, our faith is tested or challenged for a variety of reasons. There are times when we face situations where we don’t know what to do, so we doubt that we are faithful Christians. But this is the divine solution God gives us.
- He will split the problem in two, just as he split the Red Sea, an obstacle in front of the Israelites.
- He will use angels to stop our enemies.
As if the Red Sea was parted like curtains, and the Israelites walked on dry land. And after they crossed, the Egyptian army could not advance because the Red Sea, like a curtain, closed on them, chasing them into the sea. Like this, he blocks our enemies.
God will make a way so we have to pray. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
When your faith is put to the test and when excessive worries and anxieties come over you, all you need is a five-minute prayer, trusting in God who will mobilize angels to stop your enemy.
